UC Irvine School of Law presents IP and Human Rights on October 28, 2016.

Enjoyment of health, of culture, and of personal expression are among the fundamental entitlements of all people, recognized by international instruments on human rights. The exclusive rights conferred by intellectual property law may help secure and foster such benefits. Yet exclusive rights may also restrict access to these benefits. This conference brings together experts on the law of intellectual property and the law of fundamental human rights in order to explore and clarify the complex interplay of these fields.
